Ohio personal injury: 2 injured, 1 killed in crash

An Ohio family is mourning the loss of their 4-year-old child following a tragic car accident. A mother and her two children were in their SUV when it was struck by a truck, leaving all three injured. Sadly, the older of the two children later succumbed to his injuries. Per the laws of the state, the mother may be entitled to file personal injury and wrongful death claims against all those believed responsible for the losses suffered as a result of this event.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, the mother was driving her vehicle through the intersection of 39th Street NW and Market Avenue in the Canton area when her SUV was struck by a man in a Ford F-150. The force of impact caused her vehicle to hit another truck before coming to a stop. The mother and her young daughter suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her son, however, was flown to Akron Children's Hospital in critical condition. Sadly, he died soon after his arrival.

The driver believed responsible for this incident also suffered injuries, though they are believed to have been minor. Authorities have not indicated if this individual will be charged for his role in the collision. The investigation is still ongoing.

Losing a child is just about every parent's worst nightmare. No one wants to or should have to go through such a tragic event. While there is nothing that can replace the life of this young boy, his parents can seek some level of compensation to help them cover the financial losses they are experiencing because of his unexpected and untimely death. This they can do by pursuing a wrongful death claim in an Ohio civil court -- if pursuing such an action is deemed appropriate. They may also be able to pursue personal injury claims in an effort to recoup any other losses suffered by the mother and surviving child.
